Ebay, an American multinational e-commerce service, is exploring new payment methods for its customers, including cryptocurrencies. Ebay's CEO, Jamie Lannone, told CNBC that the e-commerce giant is open to cryptocurrencies as it is always looking at the "most relevant forms of payment."

The company is also looking to non-fungible tokens (NFT) as it sees interest in trading card sales.

"We are exploring opportunities on how we can enable it (NFTs) on eBay in an easy way. Everything that is collectible has been on eBay for decades and will continue to be for the next few decades," Lannone said.

While Lannone's statements sound promising for the cryptocurrency community, eBay's spokesperson later told TheStreet that the company currently has no plans to integrate cryptocurrency payments.

As iHodl reported in February, Twitter has done "a lot of the upfront" thinking to consider how it might pay employees should they ask to be paid in bitcoin (EXANTE: Bitcoin), Twitter CFO Ned Segal said. He also noted the company studied the possibilities of paying a vendor if they asked to be paid in bitcoin and whether it needs to add the cryptocurrency on its balance sheet. However, the Twitter CFO admitted the company has not made any changes yet.
