Cryptocurrency exchange Bitstamp has announced it hired Stephen Bearpark as its new Chief Financial Officer. According to a press release, Bearpark will drive the financial growth of Bitstamp and strengthen the exchange's expansion in the coming years. Prior to Bitstamp, Bearpark worked at Amazon as Finance Director for the past three years.

"I believe we have a real opportunity to build something special on this foundation," he added.
In January, Bitstamp began requiring its users from the Netherlands to confirm their ownership over the off-exchange withdrawal addresses. The exchange is now obliged to verify its clients from the Netherlands in accordance with the new regulatory policies by the Dutch government.
The exchange now collects proofs a user is "the owner of any third-party wallet or exchange account" before he or she can withdraw cryptocurrencies to it.
