Coinbase Starts ETH 2.0 Staking

Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase has announced the launch of its staking service for Ethereum 2.0. In an announcement, the exchange said its users can now stake their assets to earn a yield of up to 6% APR.

Coinbase first opened waitlist for ETH2.0 in February this year. At the time of writing, the highest reward rate is set for Cream Finance, where users can earn up to 10.59%. If a user runs a validator, he can earn up to 8.5%.

Nonetheless, a user needs to have at least 32 ETH to become an independent validator. However, just like with staking pools, Coinbase does not require minimum amounts to stake, which decreases the entry threshold.
