Popular magazine Forbes has auctioned as a non-fungible token (NFT) a magazine cover featuring the brothers Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss for $333,333.

The auction was conducted on the platform Nifty Gateway, with the highest bid coming from a participant nicknamed mondoir.

The issue's original cover was created by photographer Michael Prince and artist Yoshi Sodeoka turned it into a 15-second digital artwork as an NFT, titled Merchants of the Metaverse.

The proceeds will reportedly be donated by the magazine to the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) and the International Women's Media Foundation (IWMF).

It should be noted the Winklevoss twins bought Nifty Gateway back in 2019.

TIME has previously sold three covers of its magazine as NFTs for $385,000 on the marketplace SuperRare. The buyer was a user nicknamed mondoir1.
