US Government Auctions Fraction of BTC at $9,000 Above Market Price

The US General Services Administration (GSA) held yesterday in Atlanta the auction of 0.7501 Bitcoin at a price $9,000 above the average market price.

In particular, among the 31 bidders, the highest bid was $53,104, which is $9,000 above the market price if we take into account that the price for this fraction of 0.7501 BTC was about $44,000 when the auction took place.

It must be noted the auction started last March 15 and ended yesterday at 5 pm EST. The bidder who made the highest bid, and therefore, will receive the Bitcoin portion, must make the payment before next March 19.

In addition, he must submit additional documentation in order to verify his identity, as well as a "Forfeited Property Sales Certification Form" to state the BTC did not originally belong to him.
