A peer-to-peer marketplace of nun-fungible tokens OpenSea announced it has attracted $23 million fundraise in a Series A round from several investors, including Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), Naval Ravikant, Mark Cuban, Tim Ferris, Belinda Johnson, Ben Silbermann, Alexis Ohanian and many others.

According to Dune Analytics, the project's transaction volume grew by 100x over the past six months.

General partner at a16z, Katie Haun, says NFTs are "breaking out to more mainstream" audiences, and represent a new economy based on digital ownership.

Earlier, iHodl reported that Andreessen Horowitz believes the recently proposed cryptocurrency rulemaking by the US Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) "violates the government’s own established procedures." According to the company, the watchdog proposes a "rushed, non-vetted" regulation of the cryptocurrency market.
