The Irish authorities plan to require crypto-related companies to implement anti-money laundering (AML) measures.

In particular, the country's central bank has just extended its national anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing guidelines so that these will also apply to both Bitcoin and crypto assets starting next month.

From April, all companies offering crypto-related services in the country will be required to comply with anti-money laundering regulations and other measures.

It should be noted this measure is the result of the adoption of the latest EU Directive on anti-money laundering.

From now on, companies operating with crypto assets in one way or another will have to verify the identity of their users as well as the origin and destination of the funds.
