bitFlyer Expands Services in Connecticut

Cryptocurrency exchange bitFlyer USA has announced the expansion around the US as its services are now available in the state of Connecticut. According to a press release that was shared with iHodl, the residents of Connecticut can now buy and sell popular cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin (EXANTE: Bitcoin) and ether (ETH), without having to pay exorbitant fees.

The exchange says trading accounts can be topped up via wire transfer and PayPal. bitFlyer COO, Joel Edgerton, says the exchange has achieved "significant growth" in its business this year. The US-focused subsidiary of Japanese cryptocurrency exchange plans to eventually become licensed in all states and territories in the US, the press release notes.

Last year, bitFlyer announced the launch of a new cross-border trading feature that allows users to get the deep liquidity of the Japanese bitcoin market from Europe. The exchange said it was the first time when all European users could access one of the largest bitcoin markets in the world, "while still under the umbrella of our European-regulated platform."
