According to an announcement, Bitfinex Pay supports payments in bitcoin (EXANTE: Bitcoin), including the Lightning Network ones, ether (ETH) and tether (USDT) based on the Ethereum and TRON blockchains. To make a payment via Bitfinex Pay, a user needs to click on the corresponding button on the merchant's website.

The payments will go directly to merchants' wallets on the exchange. Bitfinex promises not to take additional fees beyond the fees paid by users to process transactions. The maximum payment amount is limited to $1,000. As iHodl earlier reported, the US-based bitcoin payments startup BitPay added support for prepaid Mastercard with Apple Pay support. With the new feature, BitPay cardholders can pay with cryptocurrencies and withdraw the equivalent amount in fiat money from ATMs.
