Amazon Web Services Adds Support for Ethereum Blockchain

Amazon Web Services (AWS), a subsidiary of Amazon focused on cloud computing services, has integrated the Ethereum blockchain into its service called Amazon Managed Blockchain (AMB). According to an announcement, AWS clients can now run Ethereum nodes and connect to the public Ethereum main network in addition to testnets such as Rinkeby and Ropsten on Amazon's infrastructure.

Besides node health checking and replacing unhealthy nodes, AMB will also automate Ethereum software upgrades. At launch, Amazon's support for Ethereum will only be available in the following regions: US East (N. Virginia), Asia Pacific (Singapore), Asia Pacific (Tokyo), Asia Pacific (Seoul), Europe (Ireland), and Europe (London).

As iHodl reported earlier, Reddit entered into a partnership with the Ethereum Foundation to increase its commitment to blockchain. With the partnership, the social content aggregator wants to accelerate scaling and resources for the Ethereum ecosystem, and bring the value of blockchain technology "to millions of redditors."
