Blockchain.com Raises $120M from Google Ventures and Moore Strategic Ventures

Blockchain.com, a cryptocurrency custodian & exchanger, has announced it had attracted $120 million from several investors including Google Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Moore Strategic Ventures and others. Blockchain.com CEO, Peter Smith, says the fact that macro investors participated in the fundraise is "further proof that institutions are taking a serious look at their crypto strategy."

While it remains unclear how the company will spend the capital, Smith says the Institutional business of Blockchain.com is significant enough "to cover the entire operating cost of the business globally."

Blockchain.com Adds Support for ALGO Token

In September 2019, the company raised $50 million to invest in fintech/crypto startups. So far, Blockchain Ventures, a venture capital fund of Blockchain.com, invested in the following startups: Enjin, Aave, Theta, Coinme and others.
