Elon Musk: Bitcoin is On the Verge of Getting Broad Acceptance

Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has just made some revealing statements regarding Bitcoin.

During a Clubhouse chat session, the billionaire, who recently boosted the price of Bitcoin to nearly $40,000 after including the cryptocurrency's name in his Twitter profile, has said the crypto is "a good thing" and is about to get the attention of the masses.

In particular, he said:

"I think bitcoin is really on the verge of getting broad acceptance by sort of the conventional finance people. I don't have a strong opinion on other cryptocurrencies."

The Tesla CEO has also revealed some of his friends have encouraged him to invest in the asset, however, he believes he is "late to the party." According to him, he should have bought some Bitcoin back in 2013 when one of his friends told him about the coin.

Musk has also talked about Dogecoin, a cryptocurrency he usually joke about from time to time:

"They are really just meant to be jokes, but you know Dogecoin was made as a joke to make fun of cryptocurrencies obviously, but fate loves irony and often as a friend of mine says that the most ironic outcome or I'd say the most entertaining outcome and the most ironic outcome would be that Dogecoin becomes the currency of earth in the future."
