100x Group Chairman, David Wong, says Wai Kin's contribution to risk management "cannot be understated."

"We are positioning the BitMEX platform to thrive in an environment in which governance, compliance, and performance will increasingly be a prerequisite for client trust and sustainable growth," Wong added.

Wai Kin's appointment comes after BitMEX hired Alexander Höptner as the new CEO of 100x Group, owner and operator of the BitMEX platform. Höptner replaced Vivien Khoo, BitMEX's Interim Chief Executive in January this year.
