Dogecoin started to rise yesterday morning after being mentioned by Twitter user WSB Chairman. This user first asked if anyone owned Bitcoin, then asked why everyone was talking about Dogecoin. WSB Chairman is one of the active participants in the recent rally in the shares of video game retailer Gamestop.
Also a few hours ago, Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk posted on his Twitter a digital magazine cover featuring a dog and the name Doge. Musk has already written about the altcoin on several occasions, resulting in its price going up. For example, on December 21, Musk posted: "One word: Doge" and changed his profile description to "former CEO of the Dogecoin project" (Musk's old joke).
