While Ether has been following the Bitcoin's trend during its recent growth, it must be noted the growth rate of the cryptocurrency developed by Vitalik Buterin has outpaced that of BTC. Thus, Ether has increased by 88% so far this year, while Bitcoin has added only 10.98%.
At the moment, the currency price stands at $1,424.76 (+7.3%) with a market capitalization of $162.98B.
Both Bitcoin and the major altcoins started a spectacular rally in late 2020 that is still active. For instance, the price of Bitcoin, which currently stands at around $33,000, has reached $40,000 over the last few weeks, a level it had never hit before.
