Remember that the attorney's office previously requested an extension of the deadline for the execution of the decision in relation to Bitfinex and Tether until January 15, since the original deadline expired on December 16. Yesterday, Hoegner notified the New York Supreme Court the defendants had gathered a significant amount of information, however, they need one month to complete the whole process.

The NYAG accused Bitfinex back in April 2019 of attempting to hide the $850M loss of Tether reserves. However, the platform denied the accusation.

More recently, in September 2020, the court ordered Bitfinex and Tether to submit financial statements to the attorney's office and extended the ban on the transfer of funds.
