TRON Blockchain Adds Support for Wrapped Bitcoin and Ether

TRON Foundation has announced that with the help of BitGo, a cryptocurrency custodian, the TRON blockchain now supports Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC) and the newly minted Wrapped Ether (WETH) on its network as TRC20 tokens.

According to an announcement, the extension of supported assets on the blockchain will allow merchants to tokenize their assets by minting WBTC and WETH. Users will be able to use their bitcoins or ethers in decentralized applications (dApps) of the TRON ecosystem.

TRON Founder, Justin Sun, claims the partnership will cultivate an ecosystem for its users to access their favorite cryptocurrencies with financial mechanisms and high liquidity.
