Uphold Continues Support for XRP & Awaits Court's Judgment

Uphold, a crypto wallet and trading platform, has announced it will continue support for XRP unless the SEC's complaint is adjudicated in the SEC's favor and XRP is judged to be a security. The company said in an announcement that the SEC's complaint is currently just "an allegation."

"We trust that other Exchanges will adopt a similar stance rather than rushing to judgement ahead of the Court's decision," the company added.

Uphold highlights it is "hard to see" how the SEC's complaint that triggered XRP's price crash to zero and led to billions of dollars of losses on retail investors will protect consumers.

Earlier in December, the New York Southern District Court announced the date for pretrial conference in the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) v. Ripple case. According to the court order, the parties will meet at 10:00 am on February 22, 2021, via conference telephone call before Judge Analisa Torres. This will be the first time the SEC and Ripple will describe the case in the court in the factual and legal bases.
