BlackRock, an American multinational investment management corporation, is looking for a new Vice President, Blockchain Lead to create and implement strategies "designed to drive demand for the firm's offerings."

According to an announcement, a candidate must have at least 1 year of experience in articulating the technological foundations of blockchain technology and devising and articulating fundamental valuation methodologies for cryptocurrencies.

While it remains unclear whether BlackRock plans to start offering crypto-related products or not, BlackRock CEO Larry Fink recently said that the bitcoin (EXANTE: Bitcoin) market can eventually be a global one. In a conversation with former Bank of England Governor Mark Carney at the Council on Foreign Relations, Fink admitted that the largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization has caught the attention of Wall Street.

At the same time, Rick Rieder, Chief Investment Officer at BlackRock, told CNBC in an interview that cryptocurrencies would not disappear anytime soon. BlockRock's CIO also pointed out bitcoin (EXANTE: Bitcoin) is more functional than a bar of gold thanks to its digital nature.
