As part of the expansion, the exchange is hiring technical specialists and will expand to more functions soon, states an official announcement. New positions in Canada will also have the option to work remotely, Coinbase highlights.

"We expect to open a physical office for Canadian employees later in 2021, as COVID-related conditions allow," the exchange says.

However, initially this news will not impact the exchange's product offering in Canada. Coinbase's plans to expand internationally comes after the exchange submitted a draft registration statement on Form S-1. The company says the Form S-1 is expected to become effective "after the SEC completes its review process, subject to market and other conditions."
