The users of popular crypto trading platform Kraken have deposited more than 163,000 ETH or $95M in the Ethereum 2.0 or Eth2 staking service, according to data provided by Beaconcha.in.

It should be noted the amount, 163,712 ETH, represents a considerable increase compared to the 100,000 ETH that were deposited in the service on December 8.

Jeremy Welch, Kraken's vice president of products, said:

"Kraken has long been a supporter of Ethereum. In fact, we were one of the first exchanges to list Ether in August 2015. We have watched as Ethereum has continued to grow in significance. As of December 1, ETH trading volumes typically make up between 15-40% of our Bitcoin daily volumes."

The Ethereum 2.0 deposit contract was launched early last month and the funds stored in it exceeded 1 million ETH on December 4.
