MicroStrategy, one of the largest traditional companies that hodl bitcoin (EXANTE: Bitcoin) has purchased an additional 2,574 BTCs (~$50 million in cash), the company said in a filing to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

Michael Saylor, MicroStrategy CEO and Chairman, wrote on Twitter that the company purchased bitcoins at an average price of approximately $19,427 per BTC. As of December 4, 2020, MicroStrategy has over 40,000 bitcoins (over $775,6 million).

In October 2020, Saylor revealed the amount of his own bitcoin holdings. As of press time, MicroStrategy's CEO has over 17,700 BTC.

Meanwhile, Brian Brooks, Acting Comptroller of the Currency in the US, said during an interview with CNBC's Squawk Box that the US authorities will not ban bitcoin in the United States. Brooks declined to answer strictly whether the US Department of the Treasury is going to tighten regulation regarding self-hosted crypto wallets or not, but emphasized that nobody is interested in banning technologies related to cryptocurrency transmission.
