Ricardo Salinas Pliego, the second richest man in Mexico, has just revealed through his official Twitter account 10% of his investment portfolio is linked to Bitcoin.

In addition, he has gone one step further, even stating that "Bitcoin protects citizens from government expropriation."

Pliego has explained through a reply to Dan Held, growth leader of crypto exchange Kraken, that as far as the rest of his investment portfolio is concerned, 90% is linked to precious metal miners.

Investors are trying to find assets in which to invest their funds in order to avoid economic turbulences. Thus, Latin America, particularly Venezuela, is suffering a serious economic crisis due to super inflation. In this situation, investors are turning to assets such as gold or Bitcoin to keep their funds safe.

Pliego is the founder of Grupo Salinas, a group of companies with interests in telecommunications, media, financial services and retail stores.
