Popular German soccer club Borussia Dortmund (BVB) and cryptocurrency trading platform Bybit have just entered a multi-year partnership, according to a press release shared with iHodl.

While the press release unveils very few details about the collaboration, it looks like it will mainly involve marketing and mutual brand outreach.

Bybit's CEO Ben Zhou has said:

"We are thrilled to be a Champion Partner of Borussia Dortmund. The intensity and the passion of BVB go beyond the football field. Through this partnership, we want to demonstrate to everyone that we are here for the long run. With a storied history, a proven record of success, and deep ties with its community, BVB is our ideal partner."

It must be noted this is not the first time a soccer club cooperates with the crypto space. Regarding the cooperation between Bybit and BVB, Zhou said that "in the near future we hope to be able share news of a BVB fan token, however for the moment we cannot share any specific details."

This means that the crypto exchange might eventually roll out a token for BVB fans, however, no further details have been shared about it.

Crypto and sports associations are becoming increasingly popular worldwide, drawing clubs from Italy to Japan, Russia, France, Spain as well as the UK.
