Societe Generale Selects ConsenSys for CBDC Development

French multinational investment bank Societe Generale has selected ConsenSys to provide technology and expertise for a central bank digital currency issuance and management.

According to an official announcement, ConsenSys joined Forge, an integrated subsidiary of Societe Generale Group. ConsenSys will also assist Forge with cross-ledger interoperability.

Hong Kong's Central Bank Selects ConsenSys for CBDC Project

Societe Generale – Forge CEO Jean-Marc Stenger says ConsenSys "is a key player in the development of distributed ledger technology globally" that offers many of the blockchain-related services and infrastructure.

Ken Timsit, Global Head of Enterprise Solutions at ConsenSys, highlighted that the company will continue advancing the CBDC space as it has already assisted six central banks with CBDC projects:

"We have high regard for the accomplishments of Societe Generale – Forge and are proud to be working with them."

Earlier in August, ConsenSys acquired Quorum, a blockchain network based on the Ethereum blockchain and developed by JPMorgan. With the acquisition, the blockchain-focused company now offers a full range of products, services, and support for Quorum, accelerating the availability of features and capabilities.
