Crypto.com today announced it has hired Filomena Ruffa as general manager of Latin America (LATAM), where she will be responsible for leading all operations and driving strategic business relationships in the region. Crypto.com recently released the Portuguese version and Spanish version of its App and Exchange, opening its services to the 600m+ Spanish and Portuguese speakers in the world and preparing for the coming rollout of its Visa card in the region.
Filomena brings to Crypto.com deep relationships and experience in the region, including her role as VP of innovation and strategic partnerships for Visa Latin America, where she helped banks and merchants adopt disruptive solutions to onboard new consumers in an increasingly digital world. Prior to Visa, Filomena held top positions at global payments companies including CardinalCommerce, a Visa company, where she was GM of the LAC region, and SafetyPay, where she was VP of strategic partnerships and alliances.
Filomena joins Crypto.com during a year of rapid growth, as the company surpassed 5M users, doubled headcount, has expanded its product portfolio and entered into new markets. LATAM represents a crucial market for Crypto.com, as its lack of easy access to banking services in many countries has paved the way for strong crypto adoption in the region.
