US crypto exchange Coinbase suspended trading last night right when Bitcoin was approaching its 2019 peak.
As reported by Coinbase, "trading has been disabled due to loading issues." Shortly thereafter, the order books have been changed to "cancel only" mode. Coinbase has started to resume trading with some limitations.
The platform has suffered other interruptions in the past coinciding with the increase in volatility in the crypto market.
For example, in June, Coinbase stopped working for almost an hour right when the price of Bitcoin exceeded $10,000. The platform later explained the problem was caused by a delay in data transmission.
The last interruptions in the platform were recorded on September 4.
