According to the announcement shared today by Kraken, the exchange has decided to reactivate its trading feature in Japan, which means that Japanese traders can now trade with BTC, ETH, LTC, XRP and BCH two years after the platform withdrew support for this feature in Japan.

It should be noted the measure has been implemented as part of the company's plans to expand in the Asia-Pacific region.

Japanese users will now be able to trade the above-mentioned cryptos in crypto-to-crypto pairs as well as in pairs against the yen.

Japanese traders can make deposits in all five of the above cryptos, while they can also make deposits and withdrawals in the national currency (yen) through SBI Sumishin Net Bank.

Kraken started to operate in Japan back in 2014. However, it decided to cease its operations 4 years later citing increased operating costs and the strategic decision to focus on "other geographical areas."
