With this cooperation, TRON is working to solve with BTFS the intrinsic disadvantages of traditional file storage systems such as centralized trust, concentrated authority, high cost, inflexibility and low tolerance.

BTFS, as both a protocol and a network application, provides a content-addressable, peer-to-peer mechanism for storing and sharing digital content in a decentralized file manner. While syncing a new mainnet node can take between a few hours, days, or weeks, BTFS’s decentralized cloud can drastically reduce times.

The BTFS network incentivizes users to share their storage space, and by contributing to the TRON network, it will also help to ensure content creators can easily share their content, while TRX and TRC-20 token holders can easily spend their assets without relying on a central authority.

Even though TRON will be the first blockchain supported by BTFS, other blockchains are expected to be supported by the solution soon.
