Grayscale Controls 2.4% of the Bitcoin Supply

Popular cryptocurrency fund manager Grayscale Investments currently controls 2.4% of the total Bitcoin supply after investing $180M in the crypto last week through its Bitcoin Trust.

According to data provided by Bybt, Grayscale has added 17,100 Bitcoins to its Bitcoin Trust over the past week, resulting in the company now managing 449,900 Bitcoins worth approximately $4.9B at the crypto's current price.

As a result of this new acquisition of BTCs, the company owns about 2.4% of the total supply of the crypto, which currently amounts to 18,502,381 Bitcoins.

The total supply of the crypto is limited to 21 million Bitcoins, and according to experts' calculations, the last Bitcoin will be mined in 2140.

While Grayscale's investment is remarkable, there are also other companies that believe in the potential of the leading cryptocurrency. For example, MicroStrategy has accumulated 38,250 BTCs since its first purchase of BTC in August.
