US-based cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase has announced extension of its VPs team three new members from large IT companies.

According to an official announcement, Coinbase hired Shilpa Dhar as VP of Product and Ravi Byakod as VP of Engineering. Shilpa and Ravi will assist in creating scalable and compliant infrastructure that can keep up with the growing cryptoeconomy, the announcement says.
Prior to Coinbase, Shilpa served at Venmo as Head of Product. She also spent 10+ years at PayPal where she led teams including Nextgen Commerce, Identity, Global Customer Onboarding and User Platforms. Ravi worked at Adobe as manager of development and operations. He also held senior positions at eBay, Flipkart, and Google.
Moreover, Coinbase also hired Frank Yoo as VP, Design & Research. He worked at design and research teams for GSuite at Google. Before joining Google, Yoo worked at Lyft, Linkedin and Yahoo!
Earlier in September 2020, Coinbase announced an investment round for startups focused on stablecoins.
The exchange believes that stablecoins based "on crypto rails" simplify access to other digital assets regardless of where a user lives.
