The new card, according to an official announcement, is linked to 19 secure cryptocurrency and traditional currency accounts in the Wirex app, and allows cardholders to seamlessly spend multiple fiat and cryptocurrencies with no need for exchange.

"We believe that these game-changing features, combined with sky-high limits and next-to-no fees, gives the new Wirex Mastercard a significant advantage over its competitors," the company said.

Wirex CEO and Co-Founder, Pavel Matveev, says the new product confirms the company's plans to play a pivotal role in the mass adoption of digital assets and "the inevitable shift from a fiat to a token-based economy."

"While other platforms creep towards mainstream adoption through iterative updates and improvements, Wirex makes the everyday use of digital currencies mainstream now."

Earlier in July, Mastercard announced that Wirex became the first native cryptocurrency platform that had been granted a Mastercard principal membership, allowing it to directly issue payment cards.
