Norwegian financial services firm AksjeBloggen has reported the number of Bitcoin ATMs worldwide has increased by 87% over the last year.
As a result, the total number of ATMs worldwide that support digital currencies now exceeds 10,000.
In particular, the 5,336 ATMs registered in September 2019 have added another 3,900 new ATMs in just one year.
According to the monitoring resource CoinATMRadar, there are currently 10,014 ATMs in 71 countries that allow users to buy and sell both Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies with cash.
In spite of this significant increase, some countries are not following the same growth rate. Thus, Austria currently has 149 bitcoin ATMs, down from the 244 it had in September 2019.
