Crypto derivatives platform Bakkt has just announced it has reached a new record trading volume in physically delivered BTC futures. According to Bakkt, the volume of transactions yesterday jumped to $173M, 36% above the previous record.

In addition, there was also a record volume in terms of BTC: on September 15, 15,995 Bitcoins were traded on the platform. During the last three months, the daily trading volumes in Bakkt have exceeded $100M very rarely.

At the same time, activity on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) was minimal, amounting only to $262M.

In spite of this new record, Bakkt's contribution to the total trading volume on the Bitcoin futures market remains quite modest. As a comparison, the trading volume for perpetual Bitcoin contracts on Binance over the past 24 hours amounted to $2.65B, $1.28B on Huobi and $516M on OKEx.
