A hacker or group of hackers has hacked into a Twitter account belonging to Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, in an attempt to steal cryptos from users.

According to Nikkei Asian Review, the attackers have managed to access the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF) account and have posted several tweets asking users (around 2.5 million) to make crypto donations directly to an address provided by the hackers.

It remains unknown whether the funds have gone to a private account, or how much donations hackers have received.

The fund, which normally receives donations in cash, was created with the aim of helping the families of people killed in natural disasters such as floods, cyclones and earthquakes.

The social network has recently hit headlines after an attack in which hackers managed to access the accounts of a large number of celebrities in order to steal cryptos from users.
