Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong in Invest Like the Best podcast revealed that the exchange is currently working on a new platform for an initial exchange offering (IEO).

Access more than 50 of the world's financial markets directly from your EXANTE account – including NASDAQ, London Stock Exchange and Tokyo Stock Exchange.

Armstrong says the new product — which might be called Coinbase Launch — will be a platform"for anybody who wants to do a crypto start up."

"I think that kind of like Stripe Atlas meets AngelList or something, I do not know what exactly the analogy would be, but that could be a huge unlock for the crypto economy as well, to get a thousand new startups built like that," Armstrong added.

The IEO is known as a continuation of the traditional ICO, which strengthens the trust and safety of investors and blockchain projects.

It remains unknown when exactly the new platform will be launched.

IEOs Are Losing Popularity

In April, the Poloniex cryptocurrency exchange announced the launch of an IEO. Poloniex also reported it was planning to provide professional advice to the projects participating in LaunchBase in order to help them gain traction and adoption.
