Tether Transfers 3 Million USDT to OMG Network

Tether, the issuer of the popular stablecoin pegged to the USD dollar USDT, has just moved 3 million tokens to the OMG Network.

It must be noted Tether was integrated last week into the OMG Network, a layer 2 solution designed to reduce the congestion in the Ethereum blockchain.

Tether's CTO, Paolo Ardoino, said this type of solution (Lightning Network in the case of Bitcoin and OMG and zkRollups in the case of Ethereum) is becoming increasingly popular as a scaling mechanism for major blockchains.

Tether, the largest stablecoin in the market, is compatible with 7 blockchains: Algorand, Ethereum, EOS, Liquid Network, Omni, OMG Network and Tron. However, the Ethereum blockchain is still the most relevant for Tether.
