The largest social network in Japan, LINE, has announced the launch of LINE Blockchain Developers, a developer platform for blockchain services, and a cryptocurrency wallet called BITMAX Wallet.

To start using the wallet, users need to pass verification process via the LINE ID service, an official announcement states.
In April 2018, LINE established the so-called LINE Blockchain Lab team to create blockchain-driven dApps and research peer-to-peer distributed systems and encryption technologies.
With that purpose, the team has worked on a wide range of various blockchain products across the LINE Group.
Earlier in August, LINE started to offer its native token Link (LN) to Japanese users for the first time.
The token was launched back in 2018 as a reward for the more than 84 million LINE users. The platform also aims to develop a system with which it can reward its users with tokens for using decentralized applications (dApps).
