LINE, a popular Japanese instant messaging service, has started to offer its native token Link (LN) to Japanese users for the first time.
Until now, the platform has been offering its token through the crypto exchange Bitfront, which did not allow access to users in Japan.
However, BitMax, the exchange operated by LINE's LVC Corporation, has just announced it is listing the native token of the messaging service, becoming this way the first Japan-based crypto trading platform to support LINK.
The token was launched back in 2018 as a reward for the more than 84 million LINE users. The platform aims to develop a system with which it can reward its users with tokens for using decentralized applications (dApps).
After listing LINK on BitMax, the platform already supports 6 cryptoassets: Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), XRP (XRP), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Litecoin (LTC) and Link (LN).
BitMax was rolled out by LINE after receiving a license from the Financial Services Agency of Japan (FSA) on September 6, 2019.
