The passport data of approximately 1.1 million Russian citizens who participated in the recent blockchain-voting for the Constitutional amendments have been leaked on a darknet market, iHodl Russia has learned.

Each line with data linked to the passport costs $1 wholesale and $1.5 retail. The seller has reportedly managed to sell over 30,000 lines.

The authenticity of the leaked database has been confirmed by DeviceLock Founder Ashot Oganesyan.

At the beginning of July, the other database of passports linked to the recent blockchain voting also became available on one of the dark forums. The Moscow authorities denied the leak, but then the hacked archive was made publicly available outside the forum.

The head of Russia's Central Election Commission, Ella Pamfilova and the chief developer of the electronic voting system, Artem Kostyrko previously denied the importance of the leaked data, claiming that the stolen database only contains a register of passport numbers without full name and date of birth, and this cannot be called "personal data of voters."

However, experts say that the passport number can be easily supplemented with data from other pirate databases, for example, the owner's name, individual's insurance account number, credit history, companies registered on it, etc.

Such information gives hackers the opportunity for further scams and phishing.

iHodl earlier reported that the State Duma of Russia adopted the third and final reading the draft law "On Digital Financial Assets."
