A1 Telekom Austria's clients now have alternatives at their disposal that are oriented towards digital and international needs, the company said.

Payments made with cryptocurrencies will reportedly be converted into euros in real time.

"Regardless of the digital payment method used, the retailer receives the purchase price in euros. This eliminates any exchange rate or currency risk," the company added.

In April 2019, Austrian Minister of Digital and Economic Affairs, Margarete Schramböck, during the first ANON Blockchain Summit discussion panel in Vienna, said that Europe has a strong tendency to overregulation so governments should not regulate blockchain in order to simplify business activity.
