E-Sports Programming Network (ESPN) Global has announced it succeeded to integrate online gaming with the blockchain technology.
According to an official press release, the blockchain-based platform is under pre-launch phase right now and later will allow players to make deposits and withdrawals using bitcoin (EXANTE: Bitcoin) and other cryptocurrencies via crypto-focused payment provider Cryptopay.

One of the Directors of ESPN Global, Chris Parker, says e-sports and online gaming is a $140 billion global industry driven predominantly by digital micro-transaction economies.
"...we believe [e-sports and online gaming] will benefit immensely from the integrity and resilience of the Blockchain technology," Parker said.
Parker highlights with the blockchain technology, anyone can verify and support extreme levels of simple transactions without the need for a centralized platform, "and this is what industries are seeing as the most attractive feature."
In December 2019, Chinese conglomerate that listed among the world's largest gaming, tech, social media, venture capital firms and investment corporations Tencent Holdings Limited announced it was planning to open a cryptocurrency-focused research arm.
