Data of Millions of VPN Apps Users Leaked
Main page News, Tech

Free VPN apps UFO VPN, FAST VPN, Free VPN, Super VPN, Flash VPN, Secure VPN and Rabbit VPN have suffered a security problem that has left the personal data of their users available to anyone.

According to vpnMentor researchers, if we take into account the number of users of these services, we can conclude that the data of over 20 million people has potentially been leaked.

Even though all the affected VPN apps claim they do not record the activity of their users, vpnMentor has found logs of activity on their servers which include names, email addresses, passwords, IP addresses, home addresses, phone models, devices ID as well as data about Bitcoin transactions.

Researchers have found over 1 million logs on the server.

vpnMentor also believes all the apps were actually created by the same developer and they simply worked under different brands.

vpnMentor has found out during a second check the data is again secure on the server.
