The US Major Cybercrime Unit (MCU) wants to add crypto tracking tools to its team, according to public records.

According to a Statement of Work (SOW) released on July 10, the US Army Criminal Investigation Command's Major Cybercrime Unit (MCU) is seeking tools to help it fight crypto-related crimes.

In particular, the MCU wants a "web based application with the capability to assist law enforcement identify and stop actors who are using cryptocurrencies for illicit activity such as fraud, extortion and money laundering. The application must enable users to conduct in-depth investigation into the source of cryptocurrency transactions and provides multi-currency analysis from Bitcoin to other top cryptocurrencies."

It should be noted the US army already showed interest in incorporating such an application last year.
