She previously served as Deputy Assistant Attorney General in the Justice Department’s criminal division and as an assistant United States attorney in the Southern District of New York.

Mandelker says Chainalysis has done "terrific work" providing blockchain analysis and tools to financial institutions.

"As the digital assets industry continues to evolve and grow in positive ways, I'm excited to work with the Chainalysis team to help develop public-private partnerships, enhance ground-breaking technologies in financial services, and root out illicit networks," she added.

Earlier iHodl reported that Chainalysis announced it had launched support for two notable cryptocurrencies in Chainalysis Reactor and KYT (Know Your Transaction): Dash and Zcash.

Both of the so-called "privacy coins" account for over $1.5 billion of reported daily trading volume.
