TON developers have announced they will stop supporting the TON test network.

Although the Telegram Open Network (TON) project was officially cancelled in May due to pressure from regulators, the test network has been running for almost a year. However, the developers have just reported they will stop supporting it next month.

According to a statement shared yesterday, the remaining TON validators will be shut down on August 1, so network participants must save all their relevant data and stop their testing processes.

Even though the test network is not officially supported by the developers, users can still use it by installing their own validators.

The TON testnet for explorer and node software was launched on September 6, 2019. However, the project came across an obstacle it has not managed to overcome when the SEC accused the company that its ICO, in which it attracted $1.7B, was illegal.
