Eshaq Jahangiri, Iran's vice president, announced yesterday the country's crypto miners have a month to register with the State.

Per the announcement, people mining cryptocurrencies in Iran must disclose their names, the size of their mining farms as well as the equipment they use for their activity to the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade.

Once the registration is completed, the Ministry will publish an official list of approved miners.

The measure is just another effort by the government to control activity in the country, where mining equipment is sometimes smuggled.

The authorities claim this new measure aims to fight the regulatory confusion in the country, as miners have been operating in a grey area for years.

It is still unknown how many miners, who generated about 4% of the Bitcoin hashrate in April, will obey and will register their rigs.
