Managing Director and Global Head of Financial Crime Compliance at Credit Suisse Sterling Daines has joined the Libra Association as Chief Compliance Officer.
An official announcement states Daines will step down from his role at Credit Suisse and join the association later this year.
Daines says a critical element of achieving this mission is to ensure the team behind the project is building a safe, compliant, and reliable platform for all users.
"I am pleased to join the Libra Association as it works to transform the digital payment space to empower billions of people," he added.
Previously, Daines worked at Goldman Sachs as Managing Director and Deputy Head of Financial Crime Compliance. He also held positions as a principal in the Forensic and Dispute Services practice at Deloitte Financial Advisory Services, LLP and as the leader of Deloitte’s US forensic Data Analytics practice.
iHodl earlier reported that the Libra Association appointed Robert Werner, a former Director of the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), as its General Counsel.
