Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase Custody has added support for Cosmos (ATOM) token staking. From now on, the service's users can earn interest through staking without having to put their funds at risk.

Cosmos is a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) blockchain developed to improve the interoperability between other blockchain networks. Currently, Coinbase Custody supports staking feature only for Tezos (XTZ) and Algorand (ALGO).

The exchange's ATOM staking service based on its experience of running a Tezos validator since April 2019.

"We are currently the largest Tezos validator in the world, have had zero slashing incidents, and have had an uptime of 99.99% since launch," the exchange said.

In April, popular crypto custody service Anchorage announced it is considering offering staking service for Celo Gold (cGLD), a cryptocurrency considered a direct rival to Libra.

According to the announcement, users of the service will be able to stake Celo Gold (cGLD) on the Anchorage platform and receive rewards for doing so.

iHodl earlier reported that Coinbase plans to allow its workers to keep working from home after the lifting of the COVID-19 lockdown.
