CFTC Greenlights Bitnomial's BTC Futures and Options

The US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has allowed crypto exchange Bitnomial to offer Bitcoin futures and options to its clients.

The exchange, which was founded back in 2015, attracted $7.5M during a fundraising held in December 2019.

After receiving the regulator's approval, the platform has just become one of the first to offer Bitcoin futures and options contracts, joining CME, CBOE, Bakkt, ErisX and LedgerX.

According to the exchange, all contracts will be physically delivered.

Bitnomial that it "is building towards its vision of democratized US derivatives market access and creating the technical infrastructure needed to connect the cryptocurrency industry with the traditional financial system."
